Shipping
I currently ship within Australia and to Canada, the United States and New Zealand.
Shipping ceramics safely requires lots of packaging and big boxes for protection. I pack my items very well and have had only one breakage in probably about 800 or more packages sent (and it was my own fault for trying to fit too much into one box!).
I aim to keep shipping costs as low as possible. You will see your total shipping cost in the checkout.
Once full payment has been received for your order, items will ship within 1-3 business days
I use Australia Post for shipping – domestic and International. All packages are sent WITH TRACKING. You will receive a notification by email from me with a tracking number once your order is dispatched. If you are in the USA USPS will be delivering your parcel.
* DOMESTIC MAIL (within Australia) averages at about 3-7 business days transit time, depending on your location.
* INTERNATIONAL MAIL: Delivery usually takes between 2-4 weeks.
INTERNATIONAL ORDERS – CUSTOMS:
International customers are responsible for all fees imposed, including import taxes, VAT, customs duties, and fees levied by the buyer’s country. Additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by the recipient. Customs policies vary widely by country, you should contact your local customs office for further information.
Please ensure that the delivery details entered during checkout are correct. I can not be responsible for orders delivered to an incorrect address provided by you.
Packing materials
All pottery is packaged using recycled polystyrene/styrofoam that would otherwise have gone to landfill. It makes the parcel almost indestructible. I use a small amount of bubble wrap and wherever possible I use recycled cardboard, paper and boxes.
Returns
Your piece/s are packed with the upmost care, but if your item is received in a damaged state please contact me as soon as you can with a photo of the damaged item so either a replacement or a refund may be issued.
In the rare event that any package may be damaged or lost during shipping please contact me so that we can come to a satisfactory arrangement and/or refund.
I’m sorry but exchanges or refunds aren’t provided for change of mind.
How to care for your Handmade Pottery / Ceramics
Great care is taken to ensure that all my ceramic items are made using non-toxic, food safe Australian clays, ingredients, and glazes.
Each piece is handmade and hand decorated from start to finish, therefore very slight variations or imperfections may be present. These irregularities are due to the handmade process & represent the fingerprints of the makers, thus enhancing the beauty, individuality & personal feel in each piece.
I fire all my stoneware pottery to a temperature of over 1220 deg. C (2228F), which makes it vitrified and ideal for drinking and serving. Your handmade pottery is food safe and lead free. Only food-safe glazes are used, ensuring the safe consumption of hot and cold substances in my products.
To retain the quality of your piece and ensure longevity, hand washing with a non abrasive cloth or sponge in warm soapy water is recommended. My products are dishwasher safe, however the corrosive nature of a dishwasher over time may prematurely age your ware, especially if it has a lot of imagery on it.
Handmade stoneware is incredibly durable, but may crack under extreme temperature changes. Try to avoid placing items in freezing cold and then extremely hot conditions, as this could cause thermal shock and result in fragility and cracking and/or breakage.
For mugs and other vessels intended for hot liquids, please rinse vessel with warm water before pouring in hot liquid. This tempers the vessel and protects against thermal shock. Never pour boiling liquid straight into a cold vessel.
Due to the uneven way that a microwave heats your food and dishes it is recommended that they are NOT used in a microwave oven. If your piece has metallic, gold or copper accents on it, it should not be placed in the microwave.
As with all ceramics, breakages can occur if dropped or treated roughly. Please treat all pieces with respect and care and they will serve you well for years to come.
Artist tool sets and palettes are glazed, waterproof and perfect for holding water and wet paints. In addition the unglazed (matte) parts of your items are treated with a special food grade penetrating sealer to further protect them and provide a robust barrier & surface.
Occasionally some very strong and intensely coloured pigments may create some staining on the surface of your piece, this is perfectly normal and will generally fade over time and use, but in no way affects the usability of the piece. And in fact I quite like the added charm that it can add 🙂
With a small amount of care your beautiful pieces will last a lifetime 🙂
